Generator & Motor coolers

Coiltech has long experience of producing cleanable coolers for cooling of electric motors, generators and other applications where sea or river water (dirty and aggressive water) etc is used. The coolers can also be used for cooling offshore and nuclear power plants.

Our cleanable generator and motor coolers are produced according to two different principles, either with single or double tubes. The single tube design is suitable for almost any environment, whilst the double tube design is well suited for more critical applications, such as offshore platforms, marine installations or power stations. The double tube design implies that any possible leakage from the inner tube reaches the outer tube, where the installed leakage detector will transmit a leakage alarm. As the outer tube serves as a collector of the leaking liquid, it also prevents it from causing damage in the rest of the installation.

The coolers can be made of several different material combinations, depending on the water quality. The tubes can be made of copper, copper-nickel, stainless steel or titanium, whilst the fins mostly are made of aluminium or copper.

The coolers are manufactured in several different sizes, materials and power variants in order to fit any installation. They are constructed to fit different mounting alternatives, such as in-hood installations or flanged frame connections.

The Coiltech coolers are manufactured according to PED 97 /23/EC, ASME VIII Div 1, ABS, LRS, DNV or BV.
